Distribution service tariffs
The electricity distribution service fee consists of a basic charge, an energy transmission charge, and taxes. On this page, you’ll find more information on Seiverkot’s distribution pricing and how it is determined.
The distribution service fee includes the following two components:
- Basic fee: A fixed monthly fee (€/month), which is determined based on the customer’s fuse size.
- Distribution fee: A variable fee (cents/kWh), which depends on the amount of electricity used and the time of usage.
In addition, the distribution service invoice includes an electricity tax and value-added tax (VAT), both of which are remitted by Seiverkot to the Finnish government. VAT is also applied to the electricity tax.
The current price list for distribution services is valid as of September 1, 2024. Prices include the applicable VAT rate of 25.5%, unless otherwise stated.

Electricity tax
The electricity distribution invoice includes an electricity tax, which is billed by the distribution network company and fully remitted to the state.
The electricity tax consists of an excise duty on electricity and a security of supply fee. There are two electricity tax categories, which are determined based on the end use of electricity.
Tax category 1 applies to households, the public sector, agriculture, and service industries. The energy tax and security of supply fee total 2.827515 cents/kWh (including 25.5% VAT) in category 1.
Tax category 2 is intended for industrial use and greenhouses. In category 2, the energy tax and security of supply fee total 0.079065 cents/kWh (including 25.5% VAT).
